Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information PlayPortal ("we", "us") collects when you use theplayportal.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect your player profile in order to share it with college coaches — that is the entire purpose of the Service — and we don't sell your data to anyone.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored in encrypted form by our authentication provider).
Player profile: the athletic and academic information you provide, such as tennis results, rankings, UTR, GPA, test scores, graduation year, nationality, intended enrollment date, budget range, and links to your match videos.
Payment information: payments are processed by PayPal or our card payment processor. We receive confirmation of your payment but do not receive or store your card numbers.
Communications: messages you send to our support team.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and operate your account and recruiting campaign.
To share your player profile with college coaches. Your recruiting email — containing your name, athletic results, academic information, budget range, and video links — is sent to coaches in the divisions covered by your plan. This is the core function of the Service and happens only after you approve the email.
To create and manage your dedicated recruiting inbox.
To provide support and respond to your questions.
To produce anonymized, aggregate statistics about campaign outcomes.

3. Who We Share Data With

College coaches: as described above, and only the information contained in your approved campaign email and profile links.
Service providers: we use Google Firebase for authentication and data storage (data stored on Google Cloud servers in Europe), and PayPal / card processors for payments. These providers process data under their own privacy and security terms.
Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

4. Children and Minors

The Service is intended for athletes aged 13 and older. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian should review this policy and consent to your use of the Service. If we learn that we hold data about a child under 13, we will delete it. Parents or guardians may contact us at any time to review or request deletion of their child's data.

5. Data Retention

We keep your account and profile data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping. You can request deletion at any time (see below). Note that emails already delivered to coaches cannot be recalled.

6. Your Rights

You may request at any time: a copy of the data we hold about you, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account and data. If you are in the European Union or another jurisdiction with data protection laws, you may have additional rights under those laws (such as the GDPR), including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Security

We use industry-standard providers (Google Firebase) for authentication and storage, and access to user data is restricted. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a strong, unique password for your account.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version.
